Being transparent. You can talk around it, run and hide from it, deny it, cry and get mad about it, discredit and disclaim it, not believe or live in fear of it. You can pile all of your fears on top of it, cover it with the shame and guilt of your past. Years of excuses, indecision, church hurt and telling me, I’m not into religion. It does not matter. If somebody told me that I would be in love with God and me, writing books, living and thriving in uncomfortable situations, walking around with love in my heart even for the people who have done me wrong I would have told them they were crazy and walked away laughing - but God. I got Facebook friends that knew the old me and I know from time to time they are shaking their heads wondering what happened. This is what happened - God waited on me through all my insecurity, selfishness, stupidity, drama, pride and all my sins and told me He loves me and forgave me. He was so good to me that I fell in love with Him and now because I realize what He saved me from I just want to please Him so I asked, God, what is my purpose? God comes to us with love and forgiveness not to beat us down. If you have been unhappy for years, now is the time choose a new life. Even when you submit your life to God, it’s not going to be 100 percent all the time, you will fall and have get back up, you will be stretched in ways you never imagined, old emotional triggers and weaknesses will re-surface and test you over and over again, and family, friends and co-workers will doubt you as you transform from the old like to the new.
BUT, by the grace and favor of God, as you align your will to God's plans for your life, you will experience a love greater than any you will ever know, beautiful peace, and a freedom to be the authentic person God designed you to be and really live for the first time. And for that, I am truly grateful as God changes my life from the old to the new.
