Had a special request to post on the sin of pride. This video was taken about a year and half ago after I discovered, then studied about my weakness - pride.
The Bible tells us that pride originated from Lucifer (pride converted him to Satan). Lucifer has everything going for him, beautiful, talented, intelligent, the highest angel, and in my words, God’s Executive AssIstant, but he got the big head and wanted what God had and love perverted to pride. Lucifer didn’t want to pursue his purpose and follow God, he wanted to take heaven over and be in control.Satan introduced and convicted Adam and Eve to the same foolishness- pride who then imparted sin to the human race.
Here is the cycle, the pattern, the generational curse: Lucifer disobeyed God and wanted to be in control (sin of pride),
Adam and Eve disobeyed God and wanted to be in control (sin of pride) and we disobey God and want to be in control (sin of pride).
Pride is the root of all other sins. That is every sin we can list, we can tie it back to the original sin - pride.
Think about your own sins, if you are honest with yourself you will discover that you can trace it back to pride.
The bottom line in this:
1. do what you were created to do (discover your purpose). 2. realize that God is in control and you are not (let go and let it flow) 3. do what God tells you to do (be righteous, apply God’s Word to your everyday life and practice being humble).
Be mindful that pride is subtle and weaves itself in to our everyday lives in ways that we are not always aware of.
