In Philippians 2:9, Jesus is given the honor and position above every name on earth. In the future every creature will bow to His name. That includes you, me, satan, everybody, everything. What a powerful and glorious moment, we Believers will see.
But what about right now?
What name can you put under the name of Jesus? Here are some to consider:
Sickness, boss, divorce, job, injury, unqualified, politics, poverty, bills, getting older, fear, rejection, sleeplessness, disease, worry, jealousy, rejection, anger, procrastination, bad habits, drugs, restlessness, racism, shame, guilt, sexual abuse, molestation, sex, fornication, adultery, alcoholism, homosexuality, the past, - I can go on, but you get the point.
You can put every name and it shall fall below the name of Jesus and bow (submit to God).
Jesus’ power and authority is above every name. We give up too easily or get stuck sometimes in life and feel as if we have to stay where we are. Not true.
Let’s try this a different way-
First, place Jesus' name above (seek Him out, make Him a priority, make room for Him, let Him lead, see Him as your Teacher and Model, acknowledge and believe that He is in control of all things, including you and submit your life to Him).
Then place your “name” (that thing that is bothering you, messing with your mind, your peace and joy) below Jesus' name and watch the change.
The change may not happen instantly, it may take some time as Jesus teaches you that He is God and you are not, but that you can find love, strength, forgiveness, peace, joy and freedom in Him. I know you are impatient, me too. But here is the thing, you must learn the lesson before you can have the victory. That thing that is bothering you is your catalyst for change. Going through the process and learning the lesson to let God and let God will result in your victory, your breakthrough.
The situation may or may not go away, but there will be a change (a bowing of the knee when) in us (heart,mind, will, attitude) when we submit our lives to God, learn to trust Jesus as our Teacher and Model and place Him above every name in our lives.
